FAQ

How large is a WARDOGS map?
Official publisher information describes a 256 km² battlefield. The randomized Control Zone inside it is 2×2 km, or 4 km².
Does the WARDOGS Control Zone move?
The Control Zone is described as randomized between matches. A smaller Hot Zone also shifts inside it during play.
What WARDOGS map names are currently known?
Community test-build records list Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona. This page keeps those names build-scoped until BULKHEAD publishes the final launch rotation.
Is this an official interactive map?
No. The three terrain viewers use static community test-build records, not a live match feed. Each has a local 4,096-pixel terrain layer and searchable working-name locations. The separate scale model explains battlefield and objective dimensions.

Terrain atlas versus current server rotation

This atlas retains three community terrain records and 171 recorded locations. The September 10–14 official updates reviewed here do not validate every coordinate or certify a complete live map rotation. Use these images for orientation, then check your server and in-game map.

Patch 0.11 concerns server discovery, not a new terrain release. A persistent community server ID is intended to survive map changes; it does not mean the map on that server never changes.

Source status: Confirmed.

The confirmed battlefield scale

Team17 describes each WARDOGS battlefield as 256 km². Inside it, the three teams fight over a randomized 2×2 km Control Zone. That objective covers 4 km², or 1.5625% of the full battlefield by area.

The large outer battlefield is not decorative space. It gives transport, fuel, safe-zone deployment and the route back to the objective their tactical cost.

Source status: Confirmed.

Control Zone and Hot Zone

The Control Zone is the main scoring area and can occupy a different part of the larger battlefield between matches. The team with the most players inside earns progress toward the 100-point win condition.

A smaller Hot Zone shifts inside the Control Zone. Official descriptions say players standing there count double toward control and earn double cash, but its exact dimensions and movement timings have not been published.

Source status: Unconfirmed.

Known test-build map records

Community catalogues record Bakurani, Ozeti and Zestafona from Alpha, Beta and pre-launch game data. These names are useful for finding current community maps, but this guide does not present them as a guaranteed official launch rotation.

  • Bakurani: a valley-and-ridgeline battlefield documented extensively during testing.

  • Ozeti: a second test environment recorded during the September beta window.

  • Zestafona: a third environment present in current community mapping datasets.

  • Final launch availability, zone rotations and point-of-interest names require a release-build check.

How to read the battlefield

Start with the objective, then work outward. Identify the Control Zone, the likely Hot Zone pressure points, the shortest vehicle approaches and the ridges or buildings that watch those routes.

Because the active zone is randomized, a reusable map guide should focus on terrain, crossings, fuel and travel time rather than declaring one permanent best position.

Source status: Time-sensitive.

What still needs release-build verification

  • The complete Early Access map rotation and variation names.

  • Exact safe-zone, vehicle-vendor, fuel and tower locations for each rotation.

  • The Hot Zone’s dimensions, movement interval and complete tower interaction rules.

  • Whether test-build coordinates and community map markers survive the September 10 build unchanged.
