Objective rules after launch
Team17’s current page still describes three teams contesting a randomized 2×2 km Control Zone inside a 256 km² battlefield. The team with the most players in the zone earns points; the first to 100 wins. The publisher also describes double cash in the Hot Zone.
The reviewed post-launch notices focus on stability and server discovery; they do not establish a new objective-scoring rule. Community-server modifications should be checked separately before applying the standard rules.

How Control Zone scoring works
A 2 x 2 km Control Zone is randomized inside the larger 256 km² map. Every 30 seconds, the team with the most players in the zone receives one point. A match ends when one team reaches 100 points.
What the official rules imply
Because scoring depends on player presence at a timed check, controlling space and keeping teammates active in the zone directly serves the win condition. Transport, revives, fortifications and vehicle support matter when they help preserve that presence.
This is a deduction from the published scoring rule, not a claim about an unreleased balance meta.

Control Zone and Hot Zone are not the same label
Official Steam copy identifies the Control Zone as the scoring objective and separately says players can chase the Hot Zone to earn double cash. The available written sources do not say that the Hot Zone awards double match points.
Source status: Unconfirmed.
Beta-observed Hot Zone behavior
Community overview and tutorial footage describe the Hot Zone as a smaller moving area inside the main objective fight, with player presence there carrying extra value for zone control and earnings. Because this detail comes from beta-era video material, it should be treated as observed behavior until the public Early Access build or official written rules confirm the exact numbers.
Why transport and revives matter to scoring
The transcript-derived guide material repeatedly points to the same practical idea: scoring is about having active players in the right place at the scoring moment. A revive can keep presence in the zone, a helicopter can return players faster, and a FOB or spawn vehicle can reduce the cost of traveling back after death.
