FAQ

Can you build bases in WARDOGS?
Official descriptions mention forward operating bases, fortifications and defensive positions.
Is builder a fixed WARDOGS class?
No. Players perform the role by buying construction equipment.
Can WARDOGS buildings be destroyed?
Yes. Destructible structures are a core advertised feature, with rockets and tanks named as examples.

Source snapshot: Public WARDOGS Field Guide, reviewed September 14, 2026. Official announcements and historical community test-build data are distinct; prices, availability and planned features may change.

Recheck the cost of your forward base

The Season 1 launch baseline raises the vendor Forward Operating Base from $2,500 to $7,500 and vendor Large Hammer from $1,600 to $2,400. Budget for the new costs before attempting a construction-heavy opening.

The same announcement separately lists Support-track Medium Hammer at $25,000 and Large Hammer at $75,000, with the Large Hammer unlock moving to Support level 8. Those track entries must not be confused with vendor prices.

Buildable-related crashes were among the launch fixes. Report a reproducible remaining problem; the announcement does not guarantee every construction bug is resolved.

What players can build

BULKHEAD and Team17 describe player construction as part of WARDOGS combined-arms warfare. Official copy specifically references forward operating bases, fortifications and defensive positions around chokepoints.

Source status: Confirmed.

How a player becomes a builder

Building is not a locked class. The developer FAQ says players create the role by purchasing building items, and a larger backpack may allow those items to be combined with medical equipment.

Construction exists beside destruction

The battlefield is destructible. Official descriptions mention rockets and tanks destroying structures, including bringing down apartment blocks. A defensive position therefore should not be treated as permanent in pre-release planning.

Beta-observed FOB setup flow

Community tutorial footage describes FOB play as a chain of preparation: buy or carry the needed construction tools, bring supplies, place the FOB, move materials into it and then build structures or emplacements for the job the FOB is meant to perform. This is valuable guide material, but the exact controls and costs should be checked after launch.

  • A simple FOB can support a push, protect a staging area or make a spawn vehicle safer.

  • Supply types discussed in community footage include building materials, fuel and ammo.

  • Mortars and anti-air are recurring examples of FOB-supported battlefield tools.

  • The Hot Zone can influence FOB value because teams may build around where pressure is expected.

Think in jobs, not best spots

Because map balance and objective placement can change, a pre-release FOB guide should avoid claiming permanent best locations. The stronger framework is to ask what the FOB is for: defending a tower, supporting anti-air, staging infantry, shelling enemy positions, storing supplies or helping players return to the fight faster.
